Hare Srinivasa
After somewhat of a long gap, I am back today to do the MWC series. Most of us are celebrating Makar Sankranthi today, and from today, the sun begins a celestial journey northwards, and this journey is called Uttarayana. Warm greetings to all of you. May this festival bring you good health, joy and peace.
I present today the 8th stotra from the Dvadasha Stotra composed by Madhwacharya. All the 12 stotras sing praises of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that they were composed at the time when the famous Udupi Sri Krishna Idol was being installed in Udupi. The third stotra however is a synopsis of Dvaita Siddhanta, as propounded by Madhwacharya, which includes the panch bheda tatva. Preenayamo Vasudevam is one of the most popular shlokas and is recited at the time of Naivedhyam at all Madhwa temples and mathas. I grew up listening to my grandfather recite these shlokas, while offering naivedhya. I would be his helper, following maDi to the strictest level, and it would thrill me to bits, as I felt very important and grown up!
Here, Sri Vidyabhushana sings Preenayamo Vasudevam as only he can! I doubt if there is a single Madhwa in India who is not aware of his name. I wish I had the translation for this wonderful composition, but I don't! Hope you enjoy this as much as I do! I haven't posted the lyrics as they are part of the video itself.

Bharati Ramana Mukhya Prana Antargata SriKrisha Arpanamastu !
