February 20_SV

A capella means singing with any musical instrument accompaniments. This type of singing was originally practiced in churches and musical pieces were written specifically for such performances.
Now we have numerous Acapella groups that sign a variety of songs.

The pick for the day is an Acapella group called Penn Masala, the world’s first hindi Acapella group. The group was formed almost 2 decades ago by students of University of Pennsylvania, who wanted to represent South Asian music through Acapella. The link below is their tribute to Hindi cinema from the 1940 to 2013/14.

Thoroughly enjoyable!
