"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." Thus spoke the famous German Jewish poet and novelist Berthold Auerbach. Lonely and lost is the soul who doesn't appreciate music. Most of us have certain songs and genres of music that evoke in us certain emotions. Music moves us even if we are indifferent to a song or a rhythm.
Today, in Music with Coffee, I present a truly 'hatke' artist Raghu Dixit. A Mysorean by birth and now calling Bengaluru home, he is very popular in Karnataka. His songs are peppy, fun with traces of Kannada folk music in them. He is a pop artist who not only makes us swing to his music, but also dance and laugh to it. He is a trained dancer, so it's not unusual for him to be wearing ghungrus and colourful lungis and singing and dancing in gay abandon. He is fun personified.
The song I have chosen today is 'Lokada Kalaji'. The lyrics are written in a dialect spoken in North Karnataka. And the essence of the song is why worry.
